Lower grades are processed into packaging timber in our sawmill. This becomes pallets, transport crates, and other products.
Packaging Timber
Unassuming, but extremely important: packaging timber!
What Is Packaging Timber?
- Packaging timber is wood specifically used for transport and protective packaging of goods (e.g., crates, pallets, enclosures)
- Usually softwood (spruce, rarely larch)
- Appearance and quality play a secondary role (visual defects are permitted, knots, discoloration, small cracks)
- We can heat-treat the goods according to ISPM 15 (required for international shipping)
Packaging Impressions
Imballo / packaging timber is generally sold green-sawn, meaning not dried like other sawn timber.
However, we can also dry these qualities artificially
